| For students taking the course for graduate credits only
(Undergraduates: you don't have to write the paper!)
Look for a partner for the research paper requirement in this course. Give me
both your names and the topic that your group is planning to do for this assignment. The
following represents a first draft of topics that you're to choose from. If you wish to
study a topic of your own, discuss it with me before the due date for this assignment.
 | Microsoft's C# |
 | XML Schema (especially the integrity constraints portion) |
 | JSP (Java Server Pages) |
 | Internet 2 |
 | ??? (Your own topic; Must be related to WWW development;
Must be current) |
Below are the specifics that pertain to this research paper requirement.
 | You are to select 2-3 papers (at least two "solid" ones) and
get them approved by the instructor. The papers (whether they are published in print or on
the web) should provide sufficient details on the topic in order for them to be considered
legitimate candidates. (The articles given in your notes are examples of legitimate
candidates.) |
 | Your paper should represent a synthesis of the concepts discussed in the papers studied.
It should concentrate on analysis and evaluation of the technology rather than simply just
describing the technology. |
 | The paper should have between 4-6 single-spaced pages (12 point Times Roman font). |
Important Dates
 | On or before 10/11/2000: Submit the reference papers (the ones your
group is to study) for approval (bring them to the instructor
and get immediate feedback) |
